Baltazar's Welcome Letter

Dear Student:

Welcome to my home page. This page is constructed to circumvent confusion and optimize your resources to their maximum potential. I am the only student recorded to have graduated in two years with a four-year degree. There are students who attend universities at an early age; however, they do not graduate in two years. I developed this web page for one purpose - to pass the information and my experience to you, the potential graduate.

When I was at Long Beach State in the late 80’s I was intimidate by the campus, professors, environment and the long, long lines at every booth. I was playing football for the school, in a fraternity and in the Army ROTC program and still I had no guidance. I read the catalog and was still confused. When I went to the counseling center, I was ignored. I remember speaking to a graduate student; (looking back he could have been a senior just pretending to be a graduate student!) Every time I was in his office, "Counselor" said, "you’re doing fine, I took the same thing." Young and gullible I believed him. I attended classes that cancelled after six weeks. There I was with a book, a bad work schedule and little or no refund for the class that I needed for my general education requirement.

Cutting class, translated into taking the class another semester with a possible conflict in my schedule. In any event, it meant another semester, which meant more money, paraphrase, and a new edition of the book for the class that was cancelled.

I am not special - I did not have any tricks up my sleeve or use any special programs some schools offer to a certain segment of the student body. All I had to work with was this program. I have kept a diary since my return and have documented all the obstacles I faced while in this endeavor. And I will share them with you!

There are some parts of the Upper Division Curriculum overlooked; for example, internships, supplies for computer class, practice with certain applications and work schedule. In some schools, such as Cal State Dominguez, it is emphasized a student take as many internships as possible. What is the purpose and is it necessary? Yes, it is. In Communications, it is mission critical. The writer needs exposure to various styles of writing to thicken their portfolio. These types of situations call for time management skills and persistence. Once you graduate, you should be equipped to operate at the next level fully.

The links below are here to demonstrate the ease with which a student can access information. They are also designed to facilitate primary research. My book gives you the essence of what are necessary and certain scenarios to watch out for. Included with the purchase of the book, will be access to a toll free number for personal career counseling.

I encourage you to pursue your education in an accelerated and expedient manner. There is no need to take out loans - all you need is counseling by someone who has traveled "The Road". I am now employed in a high paying, high tech job for a Fortune 500 company. I am also pursuing my Masters in Business Administration, and have been certified on IBM, Compaq, Hewlett Packard computers, printers and computer peripherals.

The skills you learn from my course are transferable to any field of endeavor. So why not let me help make you flexible and proactive in any industry?

Your partner in success,

Baltazar C. Fedalizo
